Brainstore
BrainStore was founded by three students with one mission: to bring young people full of ideas together with decision-makers who needed ideas. Together they created a globally unique method, Industrial IdeaProduction.
Nadja Schnetzler is one of the co-founders of BrainStore. “In modern companies all worksteps are systematized, planned and efficient. No area within business is left to chance. Only one single product is still produced just as unsystematically as it was 300 years ago: ideas. We created our Industrial IdeaProduction method 17 years ago and since then we have continuously improved the method. Today it is based on 16 tools within a well interlinked IdeaMachine.”
The BrainStore client list speaks for itself. Companies like BMW, BASF, Rolex and VW work closely with BrainStore to come up with new strategies, products, names and services.
BrainStore recently used Lots® and Scandinavian Leadership.
Do you have a favorite example of how Brainstore has helped a specific company or organization to come up with a lifechanging idea?
Our main goal with the BrainStore process of Industrial IdeaProduction is to generate ideas that help our clients to improve their business. It can be with new products, services, internal innovation and many other things. And it’s always great to be a part of that process. But the most interesting thing of all is to see how our process changes the way people look at how they generate ideas and solve problems.
One particular idea that makes me proud is a product we created for the Swiss Railways. It’s an annual card that gives young people between 15 and 26 free access to the whole swiss railway system 7 days a week from 7pm. It is called "track 7" and has really changed mobility for teenagers in Switzerland.
You already have many tools, why did you want to use Lots® and Carl Filip Bergendal?
We have found that if we try to use our own process to solve our own problems it doesn’t always work :-) We decided to use a structured strategy process where we could just be the participants and not the process leaders, because we felt that only then can we really follow the process and get the best results.
What were your needs and in what ways could Lots® help you?
Above all, we needed consensus. And the Lots process has helped us in a unique way to reach that consensus. We now know much better where we’re coming from, where we stand today and where we want to go.
How was working with Carl Filip?
It was a fabulous experience. Carl Filip was able to structure our thoughts without even interfering with the content. It was a bit like magic!
