Aalto University Sparks Entrepreneurial Culture
Education:
The newly established Aalto Centre for Entrepreneurship is linking different actors within Aalto, as well as major international partners, on a quest to make Finland the next start-up nation and contributing solutions to major global problems along the way.

Finland wins four medals at International Chemistry Olympiad
Education:
Finnish students won four medals at the 42nd International Chemistry Olympiad in Tokyo, Japan. The youth achieved Finland’s best results in ten years - the last four medals were earned in 2000. The Chemistry Olympiad is an international chemistry competition for youth under the age of 20. This year’s 42nd competition received participants from approximately 70 different countries.

Finnish Pupils Top Civic Knowledge Ranking
Education:
Finnish and Danish eighth-graders tied for first place in a study of civic knowledge conducted in 38 countries by the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA). The latest ICCS indicates that youngsters' social awareness has weakened over the past decade in most countries, but not in Finland.

Can Sweden teach Britain schools a lesson?
Education:
The children design their uniforms. They sit on cushions while being taught. And it's the teachers who change classrooms between lessons. It all will happen in Hampton Academy. Hampton Academy will be one of the first two Swedish-style academies to be opened in England this September(2010).

The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) is located in Trondheim. NTNU is the second largest of the seven universities in Norway, and, as its name suggests, has the main national responsibility for higher education in engineering and technology. In addition to engineering and the natural and physical sciences, the university offers advanced degrees in other academic disciplines ranging from the social sciences, the arts, medicine, architecture and fine art. NTNU was ranked 6th in Europe and 54th in the World in 2009 in the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities, the highest ranking of any Norwegian university.
