Mats Sundin
Sports:
Mats Johan Sundin is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player. Originally drafted first overall in 1989, Sundin played his first four seasons in the NHL with the Quebec Nordiques. He was traded to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1994, where he played the majority of his career, serving 11 seasons as team captain. At the end of the 2007–08 NHL season, Sundin had been the second-longest active serving captain in the NHL, behind Joe Sakic of the Colorado Avalanche, and the longest serving non-North American born captain in NHL history. Sundin last played for the Vancouver Canucks in the 2008–09 season before announcing his retirement on September 2009.

Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark is top-seeded woman in U.S. Open
Sports:
Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark merits the No. 1 seeding at the U.S. Open, the first time she has been awarded the top spot at a Grand Slam tournament. Wozniacki is the youngest woman to lead the field since Russian Maria Sharapova was 18 in 2005.

Denmark's Wozniacki wins Rogers Cup tennis in Montreal
Sports:
Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki easily beat Vera Zvonareva 6-3, 6-2 on Monday 23/08/10) in the final of the rain-hit WTA Rogers Cup, one of the last tune-up events for the US Open. Wozniacki is ranked second in the world and will likely be the top seed when the US Open starts August 31.

Teemu Selänne

Teemu Ilmari Selänne nicknamed "The Finnish Flash" is a Finnish professional ice hockey right winger currently playing for the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Selänne was originally drafted into the NHL by the Winnipeg Jets in the 1st round, 10th overall in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. He is the all-time points leader in mens Olympic ice hockey with 38 points in 31 games. There are very few hockey players who can dazzle fans with their uncanny speed and offensive prowess like Teemu Selanne.

After Budapest Swimmer Has Most Medals
Sports:
The European Aquatics Championships concluded Sunday (15/08/10) in Budapest. Swedes ended up medaling in 10 events and the last day was especially good for swimmers. They took medals in four events. Most of the sports media attention over the water victories in Budapest had to do with Therese Alshammar. She took her first gold ten years ago. But this season has been one of the best because of her performance at the Aquatics Championships.
